Collection: Kristen Anderson

Kristen Anderson is a fiber artist who creates felt tapestries and rugs inspired by her curiosity for the natural world.

Kristen makes her felt with Norwegian and locally sourced wool using an ancient wet-felting technique. This process takes wool from a light, airy medium to a strong textile using water and agitation. The natural fibers and processes are a deep extension of the designs they become, often mimicking the entangled and organic subject forms.

Kristen works in her Bigfork, MN studio and has shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions, primarily in the northern Minnesota region she calls home. Kristen received her B.A. in Biology and Art from St. Olaf College and has mentored with felt maker Mary Sannerud at Otlak Felt Studio, in Grand Marais, MN.
