Jeff Burger began wheel-throwing as a teen in the early 1970’s and went on to continue making ceramics at Bemidji State University. Jeff has a studio in Turtle River, MN. In his home studio, he throws and fires his pieces. When he has enough greenware ready, he cuts and splits wood, loads the kiln, and prepares for the day-long
firing.
Woodfired pots have always captured Jeff’s attention, and in 2011, he decided it was time to head in that direction. Jeff credits Linda Christensen for her valuable input on the kiln he built and for running the first wood firing with him. Jeff’s pottery is all microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe. His glazes are non-toxic and safe for food use; this is why his color palette is mostly browns, grays, and oranges.
Jeff regularly exhibits in juried shows and participates in art fairs throughout Minnesota.
